About the Film Festival

PEFF derives from a student/faculty collaboration in the Politics Department and with FLEFF, the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival. Samantha Lowe and Professor Beth Harris have worked together for the last year through the Dana Internship program to create a film festival as an alternative form of education for the students of Ithaca College. The festival examines how documentary strategies contribute to global environmental justice movements.

The objective of the film festival is to create forums for discourse among the college community about environmental issues plaguing Palestinians and their efforts to respond to these problems. The festival hopes to become a source of environmental education and to offer a starting point for broader discussions on the relationship between sustainable political and social communities and occupation.
